Description
Following Auntie’s suggestion, the neglected Wife insists that her Husband undergo a trial by fire to prove that he is “not a liar,” but the results are hotter than the Wife has expected. This witty miniature comic opera is closely based on the 16th-century play by Hans Sachs of Meistersinger fame.

The Hot Iron has been performed by the Cinnabar Opera Theatre (Petaluma, Calif.) and Fresh Voices (San Francisco).
